1. Introduction
SportsNow ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by Terraform Digital LLC, a Minnesota limited-liability company headquartered in Sauk Rapids, MN. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit sportsnow.video and any related subdomains (collectively, the "Site"). By using the Site, you consent to the practices described herein.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
When you create an account through our authentication provider (Clerk), we may collect your name, email address, profile image, and any information you choose to provide. If you purchase a premium subscription or make a team donation through Stripe, we receive a transaction identifier and confirmation of payment, but we do not store credit card numbers or full payment credentials on our servers.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you access the Site, our servers and third-party services automatically collect certain data, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, date and time of access, and device identifiers. We use Vercel Analytics and Google AdSense, each of which may set cookies or similar tracking technologies on your device.
2.3 Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use cookies to maintain your authentication session (via Clerk), serve personalized advertisements (via Google AdSense), and analyze aggregate usage patterns. You may configure your browser to refuse cookies; however, certain features of the Site (such as remaining signed in) may not function properly if cookies are disabled.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and maintain the Site and your user account;
- Process premium subscriptions and team donation transactions;
- Deliver live and recorded video streams of high-school athletic games;
- Display advertisements through Google AdSense (free-tier users);
- Communicate with you regarding account activity, service updates, or customer-support inquiries;
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service;
- Comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We share information with the following categories of third-party providers, each of which operates under its own privacy policy:
- Clerk — authentication, identity management, and session handling;
- Stripe — payment processing for premium subscriptions and team donations;
- Google AdSense — advertisement delivery and related analytics;
- YouTube / Google — embedded video player for live and recorded game streams;
- Sanity — content management system for team, player, and schedule data;
- Vercel — website hosting, edge delivery, and server-side analytics.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to unaffiliated third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
SportsNow is designed to stream high-school athletic events. We recognize that some users, players, and spectators may be under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at privacy@sportsnow.video and we will promptly delete such information.
Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may create an account with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. We encourage parents and guardians to monitor their children’s online activity and to help enforce this Privacy Policy.
6. Student-Athlete Data
Roster information, player statistics, and game data displayed on the Site are sourced from publicly available records, school athletics departments, and coaching staff submissions. We do not collect academic records, disciplinary records, or any data protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Schools or athletic associations may request removal of student-athlete data at any time by contacting us in writing.
7. Advertising Compliance
Advertisements served on SportsNow are delivered through Google AdSense. Because our content involves minor student-athletes, we enforce category-level blocking for the following ad categories in compliance with MSHSL, FHSAA, and general scholastic athletic standards: alcoholic beverages, tobacco and nicotine products, vaping and e-cigarettes, CBD and cannabis products, gambling and sports-betting services, and firearms and weapons. If you encounter an advertisement that appears to violate these restrictions, please report it to ads@sportsnow.video.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account remains active or as reasonably necessary to provide you with our services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting privacy@sportsnow.video.
9. Data Security
We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information. All data in transit is encrypted using TLS/SSL. Authentication credentials are managed by Clerk and are never stored in plaintext on our servers. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, which maintains PCI-DSS Level 1 compliance. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, as well as the right to restrict or object to certain processing activities. California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (note: we do not sell personal information). To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@sportsnow.video.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where required by law, provide you with additional notice (such as an email notification or a prominent notice on the Site). Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
